Jack@robinsondisabilitylaw.com

As the founder of Robinson Disability Law, Jack Robinson has dedicated his career to advocating for individuals with disabilities and their families. With more than two decades of experience, Jack has become a leading authority in special education law, representing clients in landmark cases and shaping legal standards to ensure every child receives a free appropriate public education (FAPE).

Landmark Case: Endrew F. v. Douglas County Sch. Dist.
Jack’s pivotal role as the attorney for Endrew and his parents in the landmark Supreme Court case, Endrew F. v. Douglas County Sch. Dist., solidified his reputation as a trailblazer in special education law. In this case, the Supreme Court established a “markedly more demanding” standard for what constitutes a FAPE, rejecting low expectations and requiring school districts to provide individualized education programs (IEPs) that are “appropriately ambitious” with “challenging objectives.”

Expertise and Advocacy
With a J.D. from the University of Denver College of Law and a B.A. from the University of Colorado, Jack brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to his practice. His expertise extends beyond the courtroom, as he frequently lectures nationwide on the application and interpretation of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act.

In an effort to bring a common voice and shared expertise to the community of special education law, Jack founded the Colorado Council of Special Education Lawyers (CCSEL). Jack is also proud to be a member of the Council of Parent Attorneys and Advocates (COPAA) and is currently a member of the Colorado Dispute Resolution Advisory Board, whose purpose is to advise the Colorado Department of Education regarding the efficacy of the dispute resolution procedures required by the IDEA.

Jack’s dedication to his clients and commitment to excellence have earned him numerous accolades and recognitions, including:
* 5280 Denver’s Top Lawyers (2020)
